Update on Flu Shots and Covid Shots

Our physicians have supported and contributed towards Alberta's vaccine program for many years, but Alberta Health as recently informed us that due to "disruption in vaccine distribution", Flu Shots and Covid Shots will NOT be in place for family medical clinics before Oct.15/24, meaning we WON'T be receiving any vaccine this 2024/2025 season. Alberta Health suggests that all patients can access their immunization through AHS public health centres or pharmacies.  If you have any concerns about this sudden change of not having your family doctor provide your flu shot, please speak to your local MLA.

Attention: Our select clinics are now offering on-site eye disease screening

Our clinics have teamed up with Euclid to provide a eye disease screening program on-site within our clinics.  This is fully covered by Alberta Health Care. Based on your physician's recommendations, Euclid may be contacting you to schedule a specialized 20 minute eye disease screening appointment. For any further questions please call your doctor's office and/or discuss this at your next doctor's appointment.

In the very near future, both clinics will soon have an automated reminder system that will assist in reminding and confirming patients of their booked appointments. This feature will require an active email address and registeration into a secure portal. From there you are able to customize notifications on how you want to be reminded, for example via text message to your cell phone or via email. Moving forward we are in the beginning stages of gathering emails where you will eventually receive an invite to register for this feature. If you would like to have this feature please provide your email address when checking in for your appointment or simply call our office and our staff with add your email to your file. The media seems to be providing news that clinics are expected to be administering the Covid Vaccine. As of now, we have not received any communication from Alberta Health about this. Once we receive this information, we will update the website. Until we get more updated information, Covid Vaccines can be booked online through the Alberta Health website or if you don't have computer access, you call Healthlink and dial 811 to book an appointment. Pharmacies throughout the city are also offering the vaccine. Please inquire with them directly. Thanks for your cooperation.
